As with all U3A Groups, we make every effort to share and grow our knowledge of each particular interest and this group met regularly, pre Covid, in Ceddesfeld Hall to advise, discuss and practice keeping healthy and active in both mind and body - particularly as age catches up with us. We hope that by helping, supporting and inspiring each other, the meetings are informative, relaxed and fun.

We are lucky that so many of the members of this group have particular knowledge or skills and were happy to prepare and lead sessions in Mindfullness, Nutrition and Diet, Dementia, and various physical, listening, memory and cognitive skills. We've also invited a number of speakers to talk with us on a variety of allied topics such as Sign Language, diabetes challenges, Water Aid, Defibrillators, First Aid, and local PCP and PCN support agencies.

In May 2024 we hosted a meeting for Sedgefield and District when representatives from the local Altzheimer's Society visited to give an insight into the disease, while also highlighting their new initiative, Dementia Friends.

Residents were delight to be able to seek advice and support strategies for both sufferers and carers.

In September, we will be hosting a Sleep Clinic and Sound Bath Therapy Day in Ceddesfeld Hall.
