Born in Seaham in 1944, Denis studied at Durham and Newcastle Universities and now lives in Durham City. He retired from teaching art at Emmanuel College in Gateshead in 2011 and now spends his time painting and talking to groups such as ours within the military theme of WW2 and the participation of local men and women.

Denis spoke to us last year and told us all about the air battle between our own RAF and the Luftwaffe which took place just off the NE coast. He really knows his subject and we invite you to join us for another of his informative, humorous at times, but above all very emotional talks.
