We are extremely fortunate in being within suitable travelling distance of so many wonderful theatres, cinemas and music venues but have also ventured down to London for visits to the Royal Albert Hall and Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. Depending upon numbers transport is arranged, otherwise members group together and travel in their own cars. Our recent DCC AAP grant means that members currently pay no more that £5 towards any transport costs (apart from visits away from the Northeast!)
Another popular group, this group offers a complete range of theatre visits; covering drama, musicals, and live film screenings from national opera, music and ballet venues as well as entertaining and informative talks. U3A members are encouraged to suggest and/or sign up for shows which interest them.
Information on current or projected visits is forwarded to all members by e-mail and by sign-up sheets etc at our monthly meetings.
